Firestick™ System Benefits
The NitroBolt® uses the revolutionary Firestick™ encapsulated powder charge from Federal Premium®:
- Polymer charge filled with clean-burning Hodgdon® Triple Eight powder
- Charges from the breech while bullet loads from the muzzle
- Totally impervious to moisture and the elements
- Same tight tolerances and quality controls as loaded ammunition
- Fast, effortless loading and unloading
- Uses 209 shotgun primer (not included)
Loading Instructions
Always ensure safety is in middle position (loading/unloading) and muzzleloader is pointed in safe direction.
- Open bolt to verify chamber is empty with safety in middle position
- Load projectile through muzzle with ramrod, seating on barrel shelf until resistance is felt
- Prime Firestick with 209 muzzleloading primer and insert into bolt chamber
- Close bolt slowly to push Firestick into barrel until bolt locks
- Move safety to safe (locked) position
Recommended Ammunition
For muzzle brake use, Traditions® recommends skirted or full bore Smackdown® bullets like the ELD-X or MZX models. The Smackdown® Carnivore™, XR™, and Bleed™ series with Ridgeback™ 4-petal ribbed sabots provide excellent gas sealing. Compatible with other brands of muzzleloader bullets.
